The Fine Art Software CompanyArtellmedia™ Inc. Artellmedia Inc. provides an innovative software product and resources that are tailor made for artists who paint, visual art students, and those who teach visual art. Our Vision and Approach The founder of Artellmedia Inc. is Philip Gagnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is both an artist and a software engineer with experience in computer imaging technology that spans nearly 20 years. He says, "for us, it is important to have a unique mix of artist and computer imaging talent at the software design and engineering level. It's what makes us different. It gives us a unique insight into both the technical and creative aspects of visual art." "The computer brought unprecedented opportunities during the last 20 years and, in our view, many opportunities have been missed. My dream was to build a simple software technology that would help artists learn basics of color and art faster, easier, and better than any other instructional method. So a few years ago we set out to build what was envisioned to be the Artist's Dream Tools... an intuitive software technology with resources for fine art applications. It would be used for real time art instruction and composition." Artellmedia is Real Time Art Media The company name is the name of the technology. Artellmedia is "real time art media". Artellmedia is simple, intuitive, robust, and revolutionary. You've heard the old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words", well "artellmedia is worth a thousand pictures". Our Product Today A little history... Today, Artellmedia Inc. is a small, privately owned Canadian company that was originally incorporated in March of 1991 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halifax is not far from the world famous... Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. At the time, the company provided software development and computer imaging consulting services. In August 2004, the "second generation" software called "Artist ColorNotes" was released with shipments to Australia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, United Kingdom, and the United States. In November 2004, the name "Artclass Technologies, Inc." was no longer appropriate for the business that has emerged. We had evolved beyond teaching applications to include composition and computer imaging. In December 2004 we changed the company name to Artellmedia Inc. and restructured the operation during the early months of 2005. In May 2005, the company released a "third generation" software product called "Artworks Basic". We provide payment options in 6 different currencies and ship to more than 20 countries around the world. |
